tax time - sort of...

Black Books
Cooking The Books
10:10pm Friday
ABC

Follows the antics of a foul tempered and wildly eccentric bookshop owner Bernard Black, his long-haired and equally long-suffering assistant Manny and his best and only friend - Fran...

I watched an episode of Black Books last night. I don’t usually watch this program - I’ve looked in a few times and had the occasional laugh, but mostly it can be silly rather than funny. Just my opinion -

But last night one of the main characters was supposed to be doing his ‘accounts’ - and the humour was around all the things he came up with to put off doing the job. Unfortunately, I do my tax return online , if you haven’t tried it - it works a treat, just click the boxes and hit send. I say unfortunately because here is the list of things I have actually done without yet having even loaded the tax software:

First I downloaded emails - a couple that I straight-away responded to - if I pass over them it’s the devil’s own job to find that one that I know I wanted to send a reply.. so I try to do it on-the-spot.

Then of course I had to check out my own blog - just to make sure it was still all there and see if there were any new comments. Yes, I get an email, but you never know...

There were some comments, some people I have been looking forward to meeting, so a return visit seemed like a good idea. Of course, I always start with rocrebelgranny's blog - catch up with what Ann is up to, and again of course, Ann had some new links for me to follow... so I visited some new people and said hello...

One of the blogs I found Pear tree cottage is exactly right for my ‘aussie bloggers’ blogroll - so rather than put it off - into blogger template and add the new link. Lee-ann has some pictures on her blog that made me think perhaps I should take a picture of my own lovely china that Noel bought me for my birthday. Wandered around the house looking for a good ‘photo display’ background. Batteries flat in the camera - dig up the charger and get that setup. Photos coming later.

Next visit is to Peter holtieshouse, who had some excellent tips on controlling the way blogger behaves at times. More ‘of course’, I had to add in my tuppence worth.

So, then I reckon - I am in here now - probably should do a blog of my own for today - had a few ideas I needed to follow up - John Woods turned 60 - did you know? Another one over to our side... but I couldn’t really generate enough enthusiasm for that - maybe another day.

Oh.. and I forgot to mention, on my travels I linked into a site that claims to test auras using a series of questions. I came up blue, just about like everybody else it seems. Funny that - I used to be purple - I wonder what it means?

Now I guess it’s time to start thinking about a meal (dinner time here) - but can I leave without putting something new on the blog? And what about doing my tax?

maybe later........

Monday night now - 7.00 pm.
Still no tax done - but I did get some housework done, and I backed up my whole pc onto an external drive - had a little nap, working tomorrow.
maybe later.......
