Oh boy, nothing is ever easy, is it? It's taken me ages to get just the shots I wanted for the video in the first place, and I am still not really happy with the end result and will for sure play around some more. But the picture is good, and 'scrubby' looks lovely, so now I am trying to get the thing onto the blog.
This is my first attempt, and I have no idea what is going to happen - maybe nothing, we will see - I have no idea what I am doing...
Link to the video
Well, okay, that worked for me, sort of - not quite what I had expected. The link loaded my Windows Media Player, not surprising I guess since the video file the link points to is a .wmv file. What I want is for the video just to play in the neat little box that sits in the middle of the post - so tomorrow that will be my task, for tonight, I am off to bed!

Hi Della
Mine are so good because my son does them, I'm only the lady who "Can't Open It."
As a matter of fact I can't view your video, my son says I need a new program.
Good for you for doing it, good luck and enjoy your turkey

Hi Millie, thanks for getting back to me about my video - I need the feedback - so far I have only a link to a file.wmv so I am expecting that a lot of people will not be able to read it yet - it's good for me to know who they are and what programs I need to provide for. It's a good bit of learning and so far so good.
So, don't get a new program yet (thanks Steve) - I am hopeful that I will get it to work the way I want, I am trying to avoid using any of the community video site providers, I want to try and run it from my own hosted domain - just for the fun, really.
I have downloaded some html code which might do the trick, but in the meantime I have been sent off in another direction, so I don't know when I'll get back to it.
Well that's one way to rake the leaves! LOL I was able to see the video just fine...it opened up in my Windows Media Player:-) I'm not too familiar with live turkeys...why was it scraching at the ground like that??
Hi Pea, I know, it's strange, but the thing that gets me, he does it ALL day, EVERY day, every time I look out my window, there he is, scratching away, apparently it's a nesting thing they only do when they are nesting - there is a pair, although I haven't seen the 'lady' for a while, I suspect he's got her tucked away somewhere?
When I get the video working I'll do some research for notes..
Hello Della ~ Great video, and the poor turkey just scratches, never seems to eat or find anything.Maybe
he has itchy feet !! I hope you have a wonderful time when your daughter visits. Take care, Love, Merle.
That turkey is scratching to make a mound! Believe it or not they can move four tonnes of mulch and leaf litter a night! The hens lay the eggs in the middle of the mound and the temperature is conducive to hatching chicks. There are some very frustrated gardeners around who curse the scrub turkey because he scratches up their newly planted gardens!
I had a cat who was terrified of them because he made the mistake of taking on a breeding pair! After that they could walk past him and he wouldn't twitch a whisker.
Have a great weekend, Della
