Our department doesn't usually take these extra calls, we do Internet and Mobile Phones, and the new product is a repackaged Pay TV offer. We've been helping out the Pay TV department because they have been swamped, if you are an AUSTAR subscriber, trying to turn on the new Sports option - thank you for your patience!
But yesterday - Melbourne Cup Day - the phones stopped ringing... yep, we went from queues on the phone, people waiting anything up to an hour or more, to nothing, no calls ... the whole floor was in disbelief, we thought they'd turned off the phones...
In the meantime, I've been working on a new project - my first attempt to blog a video. Ive been watching my friend the scrub turkey, he's here everyday - the lady bird seems to have disappeared so I guess she's off nesting somewhere, but he is more diligent than ever. He has re-mulched my compost heap, spreads it around the yard, then spreads it again, and again, if you've never seen one in action - stay tuned! I've got the video on film, now to work out how to trim and edit and post.
My daughter Carlena is coming from Adelaide to visit for a week - 14 more sleeps - very exciting - we are very close, and I never see enough of her, she made me smile the other day though, truly her mother's daughter. We often share similar thoughts, I pick up the phone to ring and she is waiting on the other end - our sms text messages cross paths, that sort of thing. Well, yesterday I mentioned this, said isn't it funny the way we seem to be on the same wave-length?
And her answer?
'Well, mum, that must mean we have the same angels watching over us.'
I hadn't thought about it quite like that, but I am sure she is right - what a lovely idea!

I can imagine how everyone was shocked when the phones didn't ring all day during the Melbourne Cup! lol Take care xox
It's fun counting the number of 'sleeps' left for an exciting forthcoming event! We never do really grow up, do we? ;)
