Tarot anybody... ?

I've had a good weekend, I hope everybody has. Nice and quiet, as I like it - got the ground prepared around the gazebo, for the lawn grass which is to arrive on Tuesday morning. It's only a small patch, but much needed.

The turf comes in 1metre squares; I'll be here on my own when it is delivered, and will have to move it from the front to the back. I am hoping to have the wheelbarrow tyre repaired by then. I've dug up all the weeds, and tomorrow I will get a bag of soil improver, and spread that. The instructions say I have to water it twice a day for the first few weeks. This will have to be by watering-can, and very good exercise I am sure.

Over the years, I have flirted on occasion, with things that I grew up to believe 'bumped-in-the-night'. Now this is a HUGE topic, one that is thoroughly debated in all forms, in many places, all over the web, so I wont even get started on that!

I played with Tarot for a while, to see what it was about, and if by any chance I might have a 'gift'. If I do, it is not for predicting futures or explaining current events, using picture cards. Very mystifying, but I did learn the routines and had some fun.

Visiting a website recently, in search of old friend Rob Tillett, not seen for many years, I discovered that they have an astrology based website. I signed up to have a daily free-reading of Tarot emailled to me, and every day I have a look at what 'fate' intends for me that day.

Guess what? I am still no better at interpreting the blasted things than I ever was. I do try, just in case there might be something that can help me get that raise, buy the winning lotto ticket, or even, god forbid, that I will meet the one true love of my life...

Unfortunately, not everything in my life today is as I would wish it to be, and there are definitely times when I need all the re-inforcing confirmations that I can get. Tarot is good for this, I have to read and re-read the passage before I can see the daily message, or find something that fits with the daily circumstances, and that is a good thing, because reading leads to meditating on the content, and as a dedicated believer in the benefit of meditation, anything that can help me to do a bit now and again - is a good thing...

I will confess now, that my NY Resolution a few weeks ago was to try and curb my natural 'obsessive perfectionism'. At least, that is what Noel calls it - I tend to think of myself more as a 'compulsive obsessive', but there you go, he is the 'therapist'. I am not chronic, but I do find myself exhibiting traits now and then - like, I always have to re-arrange the coasters that protect the paint-work on my kitchen window sill if they are not all lined up properly.

Today's Tarot - which I have had absolutely no trouble in interpreting, says it all really...

3_pentaclesThe Three of Pentacles card suggests that my power today lies in practice.

My life is a work of art in progress and my purpose is worthy of appreciation, attention, and effort. I am validated by doing my best to fulfill my intention and I take pride in my work.

I am empowered by a vested interest and my asset is attention to detail.

Now this makes better sense, see, I am not obsessive at all, it's just my natural attention to detail!

I've never been into Tarot card reading but a couple of years ago one of my penpals gave me a set of Faerie Tarot Cards for my birthday...I still haven't tried using it yet but your post now has me curious! I'll have to take them out and read the little instruction booklet that came with the set and see if I can make heads or tails of it all! lol Hugs xox

I need all the help I can get and find! Sometimes I think I'm beyond help! ;) I've at times had my tarot cards read but I'm none the wiser, nor the richer! I had all my hopes on Saturday's lotto but it let me down..again!!!!! I wish the Lotto people would finally realise that they have the incorrect numbers and that I have the correct ones! ;)

I had a palm reading once...and numerology done on my birth date etc.

There are stronger forces than us mere mortals at play. I've sat in a couple of seances and they left me with a few questions unanswered. I believe I have a certain amount of psychic 'powers', but I've never delved to far. It's probably best described as being 'fey'. There have been a few incidences that make me feel they weren't coincidental.

Every time I watch "As Good As It Gets", Jack Nicholson's character reminds me of my late brother! lol
Graham wasn't quite as bad...pretty close to it, though! ;)

I'm particular and organised about some things...and in others...not. I'm a conundrum! ;)

Hi Della, I'm an obsessive compulsive at work - a place for everything and everything in it's place. That way, no patient charts get lost or mixed up.

I have some Archangel message cards that I meditate on and the messages are quite amazing at times. I do have some psychic ability but I don't use it too much.

Have fun with your Tarot cards

Hi Della,
I did a course on Tarot cards a few years ago, just out of curiosity. The teacher was the President of the Tarot Guild at that time, and I was surprised to find that she was a down to earth middleaged lady, looking less like a Tarot reader than anyone I could imagine! But I learnt such a lot, and even though I don't believe I have clairvoyant skills, I have done Tarot 'readings' for several friends and they have been remarkably close to the mark!
I am enjoying your blog enormously, and plan on following up some of your links...baby boomers indeed!!

And what's wrong with "attention to detail"? I think the world could do with a lot more, it sometimes seems to be getting too slapdash. And let's start with the politicians!

Shifting grass squares in a wheelbarrow - that reminded me of when we put in a new lawn years ago, and it was the shifting of grass squares in the wheelbarrow that gave it its flat tyre!

Hi Jeanette, good to see you...

Pea, it's amazing how often these little quotes hit the nail on the head, let me know how you get on...

Hi Nicole, thanks for visiting - my sentiments exactly...

Lee - me too, I've had just about everything, cards and palms and clairvoyants, some very good actually, some just talk rubbish - but I don't think I'd do a seance - bit scary - I am a believer for sure, too many things, too many times, for me not to believe - I'm just not sure in what, just something, somewhere out there?

Robyn, I like the Archangel cards, I don't have them, but my hairdresser does, after we've had our gossip and swapped stories, she gives me a card if we haven't settled all the problems!

Hi Gina - thank you for the kind words, mutual actually, having a good time reading your blog too!

I think so too Val - perhaps that's why I get 'stressed' - I am out-of-step?

Gwen - it's lovely to see you, thanks for stopping by.
