I have gnomes...

gnomes
I must have needed some retail therapy, I went looking to buy some garden solar lights, not for light, they are not much good for that, just for decoration, a feature. I guess I must be a closet gnome person, cos now I have these in my garden. They work well too, I left them in the sun all day yesterday, and when I was up at 2.00am this morning they were still glowing brightly. So cute, my little twins (I hope they like sand!).

Actually Noel said he would buy me solar lights for Christmas, but the ones I wanted, I couldn't find. He says he HATES gnomes, but hey, it's MY present.

I also bought these:

thaicandlenudeladybuddhagodess

The Thai goddess candle holder and the nude lady figurine are both quite small, about 6 inches high, and the Buddha goddess sits among my tubs and baskets garden by the back door.

And, I finally finished the re-do of the blog layout.

The new beach scene you see at the top of the page is MY beach, well, it's Tugun Beach, where I live... the pathway down to the sand is one I walk often.

I live, as the crow flies, less than 500metres away, the sad thing is, we are not crows, and there is a major highway between us and the beach, so it's not quite a leisurely, look at the scenery stroll, but once on the beach there are miles and miles of beautiful sand and ocean to enjoy.

I like your new 'look' Della...it's sort of relaxing. I love the figurines, particular the nude...that is quite beautiful.

No comment about the gnomes! ;) They're sort stored away in my file with flying ducks on the wall! lol

How wonderful being so close to the beach, even with the highway in between. Lovely area.

Ooh, I love that beach scene, Della, and the new clock is very elegant, but I see Queensland is STILL an hour behind (tee hee).

Val...we, Queensland...are an hour ahead! ;)

Thanks Lee, I was trying for 'clean, uncluttered, and serene' the beach picture was not by design, I was browsing through my pictures and images looking for something that would do, and found this, it's perfect.

Val, Noel asked me the other day about the clock, I told him 'it's for me - in the middle of the night, or to tell me how late it is or how long I've been here...

I never know, ahead or behind, but we get a lot of advantages living on the border - which is it? When it is 8.00 in NSW it is still only 7.00 here... I can start shopping really early if I hop the border.

That makes us (Queensland) behind, I think?

Love the new look. And I love how the clock is incorporated into the beach scene.

And the gnomes solar lights are precious. I'd buy these too, if they're ever here for sale in Texas. LOL

Thanks for the wonderful compliment you left in my blog!! Your sweet words are always appreciated!!!

Here is the link to the book meme you liked so well. Let me know if you ever complete it with your answers, I'd love to read them!!! Click HERE

solar lights! how nice! I don't think I've ever seen anything like them here in New Jersey!

I lived close to the ocean when I lived in Florida but never close enough to have a view like you have!

Gnomes are for Della’s retreat
Companions share her gardens seat
Moon beams shine on her lawn
Goddess glows in first light of dawn

Tugun beach, beach beauty own
Tide and waves, universes loan
Spirit of the deep blue yonder
Mind enriched current's stronger

Hi puss, I thought twice about buying the nude, but in the end I couldn't resist! It is so beautiful to touch, too...

Anni, I love your blog, and the work you do for us too - thanks for the meme link -

Hi deslily, if I could live right ON the beach, I would, this is the closest I could get, for now...

Hi Pea, others have told me before that I don't show up on bloglines, I wonder why? Might be because I host the blog on a private domain? I should ask them... it's lovely to see you...

Lindsay - THANKYOU!

Margaret - hehehee - I KNOW - gnomes, for heavens sake - next it will be ducks on the wall! I started my gardening in January, because it is supposed to be the wet season, yeah - right!

Hello again
That beach is so fabulous - I think I hate you.
Manchester is so cold gloomy and landlocked. Although the nights are drawing out a little it still goes dark about 5.30pm. In fact it sometimes never really looks light.

There are things I like about Manchester - but I can't remember what they are at the moment.
